Website owners, online marketer, and earners are obviously familiar with the so-called Google PR ranking. However, how does thing PR thing calculated? All of us wanted to have higher PR and let us know together how our PR is calculated, but first, let us know what a page rank is. A page rank is a numeric value representing a website’s importance on the web. Ranking takes place when a page links to another page, thus casting a vote for a page. The more links a page have, the more it is important on the web. In addition, the linking page’s importance also determines how important the vote is. So, how a page rank is calculated? First, the page’s inbound links or the links within the site and links from outside the site are taken into account first with a formula of PR9A)=(1-d) +d *SUM ((PR(I->A)/C(I), wherein: PR(A) is the page rank of your page, d is the damping factor, which is usually sets to 0.85, PR(I->A) is the page rank of Page I that contains a link to page A. On the other hand, C(I) is the number of links of page I, PR(I->A)/C(I) is the PR value page A receives from page I. Finally, SUM (PR(I->A)/C(I) is the sum of all PR values page A receives from pages with links to page A. To make the equation or formula simple, the PR of a pageA is determined according to the PR of every page that has a link to the pageA. Thus, every time a page pointed to pageA, the PR of the pointing page is then divided by the number of links it has. The resulting value will then be cumulated and will then be multiplied by 0.85, and then 0.15 will be added to the result and the PR number will be determined. To explain further a page votes an amount of PageRank to each page that it links to, which is a little less than it own PageRank value, which is also divided between all the pages that it links to. With the above explanation, we can then conclude that a link from a page with PR4 and 5 outbound links has a higher worth than a link from a page with PR8 and 100 outbound links. We all know that the PageRank of the page linking to our page is important, but we must not that the number of links the page linking to us has is also important because the more the links the page linking to our page has, the lesse the PR value we can receive. One must also note that the moment he or she votes its PageRank value to other pages, it will not reduce his or her PageRank, for voting does not mean giving away PageRank value but simply a vote according to the number of shares held. Now that we have the basic idea of how a Google PageRank is calculate, we now have the idea on how to increase our PageRank value.
